Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She's written 15 books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family when she was the age of 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the political situation. It was her celebrity that has led to the attraction of many prominent contributors to share their thoughts on news, politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she made the decision in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. She was also involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential female" in the media industry and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are management consultants and journalists. Though she shared a close friendship with both of her parents, it was their bond which shaped her. At a young age she showed the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. at the age of 16 she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the debate societies in the college and eventually was its first foreign female president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned the degree of Master's in Economics. Her professional career as TV host and journalist started after her graduation. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own books with his aid.
