Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, author, philanthropist, television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England when she was sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it at the age of 21. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a prominent conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna's fame began in 2003, when she became an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be one of the "most influential woman" within the field of media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media group in 2011 after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. They were very close to her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother which shaped her. As a child, she showed leadership traits that she's still known for. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the debating society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. She became a writer, a critic, a TV host and a columnist after her graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
