Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musical family on August 9, 1963, at Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and the cousin of singer Dionne Warwick. She began singing in the choir of the church she attended The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark when she was a child and by the age of fifteen, she was singing back vocals professionally alongside the mother of her on Chaka Khan's hit song from 1978 Im Every Woman. She went on to provide back vocals to Lou Rawls, Jermaine & Jackson as well as her own mother. She also was briefly models on the cover of Seventeen magazine in 1981. Her first gig was as a featured vocalist for the band from New York called Material in the year 1981. It was this high quality of her vocal work with them that attracted the attention of several major record companies, such as Arista with whom she signed in 1983. This is where she was for the rest the duration of her career. Whitney Houston, her debut album released in 1985, was the highest-selling debut by an artist. Three of her singles, Saving My Love To You, What Will I Know When You're Giving Good Love and the Greatest Love of All came from this album. The songs contributed to Houston to achieve seven US top tens that surpassed even the Beatles. The album sold three million copies in its debut year in the US as well as sell 25 million worldwide winning them the country's first six Grammys. The Whitney album released in 1987 which featured the songs that I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to continue her popularity. It was The Bodyguard of 1992 that was her breakthrough album and made her one of the top-selling performers in the history of music. Though the movie was not an instant hit nor did her performance, the score of the film's Dolly Parton version I Will Always Love You reached the number one spot on both the album and single charts in America for months. She sold over 44,000,000 albums across the globe. When she welcomed her daughter Bobbi, Brown married Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. Around this time, her drug abuse became well documented and she was able to use it regularly until 1996.

Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she is a correspondent for the political world as well as a reporter for CNN. She has also produced several of the network's Saturday shows such as Evans & Novak' Late Edition' and Inside Politics.' NBC and CBS are her prior employers. Bash is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. Elle magazine once listed her in its Women in Washington Power List. Her extraordinary anchoring and reporting talents are highly admired and appreciated by numerous journalists. Her only child is the pride of her life. She was married twice, but is currently single. Bash is a woman who is independent and strong, has been very loved by her followers.
